Fire Services

Fire Safety Expertise You Can Rely On

At ACS, we bring over a decade of specialist experience in fire safety consultancy, risk assessment, and training. Whether it’s a tower block, commercial office, or residential building, we take a comprehensive, regulation-aligned approach to fire risk management helping our clients stay compliant, protect lives, and minimise risk with confidence.

Under current fire safety legislation, all persons in control of premises known as Duty Holders are required to carry out fire risk assessments. This means identifying potential fire risks and taking appropriate measures to safeguard anyone who may be affected.

This legal duty applies to employers (for workplaces) and landlords (for non-domestic premises and shared areas of domestic buildings), and is in addition to the employer’s responsibility to protect their staff.

Fire Safety & Warden Training

Our Fire Awareness & Warden Training is a half-day course designed for employees appointed to act as fire wardens, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to manage fire risks and support safe evacuations. The training covers fire behaviour, people’s typical responses in fire situations, the role and duties of a fire warden, and effective emergency procedures.

A Structured, Professional Approach
to Fire Risk Assessment

At ACS, our fire risk assessments are grounded in industry-recognised methodologies, including those outlined in the PAS 79 framework. This structured approach enables us to deliver thorough, proportionate, and practical assessments tailored to your building type whether commercial, industrial, or residential.

While PAS 79-1:2020 remains the current benchmark for non-domestic premises, PAS 79-2 (originally published for housing premises) has been withdrawn by BSI, pending its potential conversion into a full British Standard. However, leading industry bodies including the Fire Industry Association (FIA) and the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) continue to support its core recommendations (excluding currently redacted sections regarding disabled evacuation).

As such, we continue to reference PAS 79-2 where appropriate, alongside other trusted guidance like Fire Safety in Purpose-Built Blocks of Flats (Home Office). Our team applies professional judgement and up-to-date sector insights to ensure your assessment is both compliant and defensible. Read more about PA79-2 here.
